Intelligent
Lighting
Intelligent lighting,
also called movable lighting, refers to fixtures that
offer multiple lighting effects.
An automated light is a versatile and multi-function
instrument designed to replace multiple stationary lights.
Depending on the venue and application, intelligent
lighting can be a versatile and economical addition
to traditional lights because, with proper programming,
they can swiftly alter many aspects of their optics,
changing the 'personality' of the light very quickly.
Lighting is typically pre-programmed and played back
using commands, although moving heads can be controlled
live; if the operator is sufficiently experienced.

LED
Lighting
LEDs are better
at placing light in a single direction than incandescent
or fluorescent bulbs. Because of their directional output,
they have unique design features that can be exploited
by clever designs. LED strip lights can be installed
under counters, in hallways, and in staircases; concentrated
arrays can be used for room lighting. Waterproof, outdoor
fixtures are also available. |

Architectural
Lighting
Architectural
lighting design focuses on three fundamental aspects
of the illumination of buildings or spaces; the aesthetic
appeal of a building, secondly the ergonomic aspect
and thirdly is the energy efficiency issue to assure
that light is not wasted by over-illumination, either
by illuminating vacant spaces unnecessarily or by providing
more light than needed for the aesthetics or the task.
Each of these three aspects is looked at in extraordinarily
detail when the lighting designer is at work. In aesthetic
appeal, the lighting designer attempts to raise the
general attractiveness of the design, measure whether
it should be subtly blended into the background or whether
it should stand out, and assess what kind of emotions
the lighting should evoke. |
